Mother may I? Pay the Soldier?
Going through the internet you find stories about soldiers fighting for their country have the possibility of dying for their country but aren't being paid for it. To me it seems like a big game of mother may I. Who makes the decision for the mother? Politicians make the decision as if they are the mother. Who does the decision effect? I have read that Lawmakers may be paid but Soldiers may not be. What makes the Lawmakers so great where they may be paid when people fighting for our country are not? Where is the money going? Why are politicians being paid for talking when the people on the front lines aren't. If our politicians were true patriots like our soldiers are they would take a pay freeze and let the soldiers over seas receive their hard earned money. Soldiers are being shot at, bombs blowing up near them, and their friends are dying, they shouldn't even have to worry about their bank accounts us as people should worry about putting that money in there for them! People have to realize that we need these brave men and women on the front lines protecting our freedom and unless you have served or have some type of handicap disability you should be trying to help see to that they are paid.

I never really thought about this issue. It is true though, the soldiers fighting do so much. Why isnt there a salary for them?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you but what if the economy is doing this as well to our soldiers not just lawmakers.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting topic. I think that the lawmakers are lazy pieces of garbage and only want more money for themselves. They have no idea what its like to be in battle and how demanding it is on people and their families.
ReplyDeleteAlthough i believe salary gaps in general are ridiculous, its like comparing a sports star to the common people, the sports star doesn't do crap to benefit society or the community but because people follow them they receive high pay. Same goes for a lawmaker. I'm not to familiar with the pay of soldiers but i believe they should be payed
ReplyDeleteI agree that soldiers should be paid for fighting for all of our rights and everything we stand for, but that's the point of benefits. Think maybe how a salary could build up into the benefits after war because otherwise there would be no use in the money they make while they are still at war and have everything provided for them even if its not good.
ReplyDeleteRight now with our soldiers who are not deployed over seas are not being paid. They are working like they always have been but no money is coming their way. I have been reading articles about this and I feel disgusted. A-Rod get an annual salary of 33 million dollars for one year of playing and our soldiers cant get paid for protecting his right to play baseball, and their right to be free.I find this as Major BS
ReplyDeleteI have a brother in the military. he is in Afghanistan right now and i have not heard from him in months. I have a little bit of in site on this topic. I know he feels he should be paid more but every one does. We are all greedy but i think that they deserve to be paid more than most Americans. On the topic of politicians getting paid more, i don't know that they deserve it but if it wasn't for them then who is to say soldiers would be paid at all? some politicians might be fighting for them to be paid less but there are other ones fighting for soldiers to get paid more.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree maybe we should get rid of some of the people in the government who just sit there and do absolutely nothing. This way at least people who deserve the money will receive it, even then soldiers are still way underpaid. As I learned by looking at military pay charts over the summer when deciding whether I should enlist or not. Life just isn't fair for people who want to do good in this country I guess.
